Design Objective
To design a cover that breathes life into the soul of his latest work—a collection of stories that traverse the length of Vietnam, from the misty mountains of the North to the sunlit deltas of the South, and beyond to distant shores.
The cover needed to echo the rhythm of his journeys, the poetry of his prose, and the humanity of his encounters.
Through his work, he honed his craft, mastering the art of impactful communication and blending journalistic precision with creative flair. His latest book is a testament to his life’s journey—a collection of pungent, beautiful stories gathered from his travels across Vietnam, from the misty mountains of the North to the sunlit deltas of the South, and beyond to distant shores. TDS Australia sought to create a design that feels like a journey in itself—a visual odyssey that invites readers to step into the world of Trần Vọng Đức.
The approach was guided by:

- Imagery: Layers of Vietnam’s landscapes—mountains, rivers, and bustling cities—intertwined with subtle hints of faraway places, evoking the breadth of the author’s travels.
- Colour Palette: Earthy tones of green, gold, and deep blue, inspired by the natural beauty of Vietnam, balanced with warm, human touches.
- Typography: A graceful yet grounded typeface, reflecting the lyrical yet authentic voice of Tran Vong Duc.
